Summer Blaylock - President
Summer Blaylock has always had a deep love for animals, but her passion truly took root when she and her best friend and partner, Matt, embraced the mission of dog rescue. Today, as the leader of the SPCA of the Carolinas, a non-profit that embodies her values of compassion, love, and community, Summer brings her dedication to animal welfare to life. From their farm in Monroe, where she and Matt live alongside their cherished rescue dogs, three pigs, and a flock of 50 chickens, Summer’s days are filled with the joy of caring for animals and making a difference. Surrounded by her beloved pack, four children, and two grandchildren, Summer’s life is a testament to her unwavering commitment to animals in need and to fostering a community of kindness.

Lisa Hathaway - CFO
Lisa Hathaway and her family are deeply committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals, both large and small. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys caring for her own diverse menagerie, which includes six horses, a goat, a tortoise, and a blind cow. Her dedication to animal welfare is reflected in her professional and personal life, making her a vital member of the SPCA of the Carolinas leadership team.
